This memorial website was created to honor the memory of our dearest Husband, Brother, Dad, Uncle, Grandpa, God-Father, Father-in-law, Papa Alexander Ngwa Nforbi

Papa Alexander Ngwa Nforbi was born into the family of Ngwaniba Peter Batcha and Victoria Njuibi of Mbebeli Bafut as the last child of the family. After primary education he proceeded to Ombe where he started technical education. He then continued to Uwani Enugu in Nigeria for post-secondary/professional education in the Post and Telegraph school. In 1965 he entered the school of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) Yaoundé where he studied Public Administration, while at the same time reading Law and Economics in the University of Yaoundé. In 1969 he attended the International Institute of Public Administration in Paris France where he continued studies in Public Administration, majoring in Economics and Public Finance, as part of his studies in ENAM. From 1981 to 1983 he attended Carleton University, Ottawa Canada as a United Nations Fellow (UNDP Sponsorship) where he graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration. Thereafter he attended a further training seminar on Public Management (“Stage de Perfectionnement en Management Public”) at the University of Quebec Canada. Daddy Nforbi started his professional life as a Postal Officer and Telegraphist. In 1971, he moved to the Ministry of Finance in Yaoundé and the Ministry of Territorial Administration where he worked in various capacities (Chief of Service in-charge of Housing and Procurement of Material and Equipment, Secretary General to the Governor of the North West and South West Provinces, Senior Divisional Officer in-charge of Menchum and Momo Division etc) until his retirement. In 1973, he got married to Mary Bih Sama, now Mangyie Mary Ngwa Nforbi. Together with his wife, Pa Ngwa Nforbi (fondly known in family circles as DADDY) touched the lives of family members irrespective of whom they were. He stood firm to see to it that every child of the family (nephews, nieces, his children, in-laws and the wider family) had a sound educational and moral foundation. He was a rallying point of the family, a moral and financial support at different moments of the family’s joys and sorrows irrespective of where he was. Even in his prolonged sick bed he remained an irresistible inspiration to each member of the family who came by, always with words of encouragement, a smile and affectionate humor. He and Mary are blessed with six children (three girls and three boys). He was called to rest on the 29th of January 2013 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. The long and short of it, he was the BAOBAB of the family! It will take, we cannot say how long, for anyone to size his boots in what he was in the family. We miss you DADDY. As he leaves us, family and friends to mourn him, we can only say, Daddy, yours has been a VICTORY indeed. Rest in the peace of our Lord. We are thankful to God for your life. We miss you dearly and will NEVER forget you. We thank you all sincerely for your love, prayers and support to our family during this trying time.
